first, well done on getting an amd-based system…choosing a machine based on their platform helps to ensure healthy competition in the CPU market. TSL FTW by stimulating the economy!
second, may I offer a few software suggestions: skype, 7-zip, steam(once you have that, get Bioshock, Half-Life 2, and Portal–or just get the orange box, it should be nice and cheap), Avast antivirus, would it be too obvious to recommend Firefox?
I would also say check out Songbird, but it doesn’t play with your iPhone yet…but still a killer app for music, and plays well with iTunes, so you could have both…
